However, a year and a half later, the public relations major from Alexandria, Virginia, is graduating with far more than he expected.

    Spring 2025 Commencement at George Mason University on May 15 at EagleBank Arena celebrated more than 12,000 graduates and certificate recipients. Graduates hailed from 117 countries, 49 states, and the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and military installations. George Mason photographers captured the excitement and spirit of the day.

    When Dawn Lowry, the director of George Mason University’s forensics team, recruits prospective students to join the university’s intercollegiate speech team, she reviews videos of high school competitions.  A competitive speech coach for more than 30 years, Lowry remembers being blown away the first time she watched footage of now economics major Prem Ganesan in action.
