Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin will address George Mason University’s graduating class of 2023 at its Spring Commencement at EagleBank Arena on Thursday, May 18.

These are Yasmin Imani Alamin's remarks as prepared for delivery at Winter 2022 Commencement

George Mason University capped its 50th anniversary year by honoring more than 5,000 graduates at Winter Commencement, celebrating an esteemed class that bridges Mason to its second half-century as an independent university.

Mason alum Gregory Fowler, president of University of Maryland Global Campus, was the 2022 Winter Commencement speaker. These are his remarks as prepared for delivery on December 15, 2022.

This year’s Winter Commencement student speaker is Yasmin Alamin, who is graduating this December with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

More than 5,000 students will graduate with degrees or certificates in Mason’s Winter Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. today at EagleBank Arena.

For her Master of Health Administration capstone, George Mason University graduate student Akshaya Chinnathevar Ramesh is interning at The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Capitol Hill and working with a team of analysts working on required reports to Congress on the effects of the No Surprise Act.

During his time at Mason, Isaiah Epps burnished his résumé with internships at the Federal Aviation Administration and the Jacobs Engineering Group.

Honors College student James Condo has trained in the emerging field of Next System Studies, which involves research into questions of systemic design, change, and movements.

Honors College student Emily Synoski, who graduates this month from Mason with a biology degree, has also participated in Georgetown University’s competitive CORE pre-med program, where she and her team pitched an idea to deliver opioid overdose treatment to houseless populations via drones.

This month, Paul Vosti will graduate from George Mason University with a master’s degree in finance, part of the program’s first cohort of 14 students.

With the support of her Mason mentors, doctoral student Shrishti Singh has achieved her goal of developing a promising new technology that would allow cancer to be visualized in deep tissue and perhaps diagnosed earlier.
