Current forecasts are calling for inclement weather late Sunday, 2/22, into Monday, 2/23. George Mason University administrators are monitoring the forecast and will continue to do so throughout the weekend. Any decisions to alter the regular operations of the university will be posted to the George Mason homepage, Mason Alerts, and the Rave Guardian app.
Event Updates
The NPHC Step Show will be postponed to April 3, 2026 at 7 p.m.
Student Centers
Student Centers will be closing at 8pm on Sunday, February 22.
Library
Fenwick Library will be closing at 8pm on Sunday, February 22.
Shuttle Service
On-demand shuttle service will end at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, 2/22. Rides must be requested by 7:30 p.m. All other shuttle routes will operate on their regular Sunday schedules.
Parking
All resident students with surface parking permits are encouraged to relocate their vehicles to the ungated General permit area within the Rappahannock Parking Deck (levels 1-3 excluding the visitor area) or into the reserved permit area of the Shenandoah Parking Deck (levels 1-4) before 12:00 p.m. Sunday, 1/22. A valid George Mason parking permit is required to park in these areas during this time.
Please note that the roof/top levels of the Rappahannock and Shenandoah Parking Decks will be closed to parking beginning at 11 p.m., Friday 2/20.
Once the university's Facilities team has completed work in the surface parking lots, please relocate your vehicle back to your authorized parking area. Completion of this is anticipated by 12:00 p.m. Monday, 1/23. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Updates will be available via email and text message Mason Alerts. Students, faculty, and staff are automatically enrolled. Other community members may sign up for a guest account.
When the university closes for inclement weather, various offices may move all operations online or keep amended hours. For more information on how to contact any specific office on campus, check our Hours of Operation page.
For information regarding events that were scheduled to be on campus, please check with the event organizers or the specific event's website for updates if they are available.
