Wing Lam's award winning dissertation pinpoints flaky tests, an important topic for software developers. Lam's work proposes techniques to help developers detect, understand, and fix flaky test results.

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has announced the election of Giorgio Ascoli, University Professor, in the Department of Bioengineering at George Mason University to its College of Fellows. Ascoli was nominated, reviewed, and elected by peers and members of the AIMBE College of Fellows for outstanding contributions in the development of open-access resources for data science in the investigation of learning, memory, and neurodegeneration.

Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics received the Innovative Practice or Partnership of the Year award from the Prince William County (VA) Chamber of Commerce 2022 Business Awards for its trailblazing work with the City of Manassas Park Public Health Department and Prince William County Health Department.

Professor Amarda Shehu of the College of Engineering and Computing’has been named a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows “for pioneering contributions to computational biology and bioinformatics.”

Jennifer Connors, director of Mason's Office of Military Services, is the first recipient of the Admiral John Harvey Career Achievement in Military Education Excellence Award, which was presented by the Virginia Department of Veteran Services in September.

A PhD candidate is named a “40 Under 40” Middle East scholar to watch. Jon Hoffman is 26. He can make the list for another 14 years.

University Professor and provost emeritus Peter Stearns is being recognized by the American Historical Association with its Award for Scholarly Distinction.

Tarang Parekh, PhD candidate in Health Services Research in the Department of Health Administration and Policy (HAP), received a 2021 American Public Health Association (APHA) Career Enhancement Student Scholarship Award for his outstanding peer-reviewed abstract submission, which was selected for an oral presentation by the Disability Section abstract review committee. The virtual oral presentation occurred on Sunday, October 24, 2021.
