For Mason Korea students Dayeon Shin and Taeyeong Kim, a classroom discussion on urban flooding turned into something much bigger- a research project on “sponge cities,” or urban areas designed to absorb and reuse rainwater, and their potential in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
