A $2 million gift to George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution will be used to bolster major areas of the school, with the goal of “advancing the field of conflict resolution by strengthening S-CAR as an institution,” said Steve Cumbie, one of the benefactors.

The National Peace Academy has established a partnership with George Mason University and will join forces with the university’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, the oldest peace studies program in the country. The Academy plans soon to break ground on its own facility at Mason's Point of View, the Elise Boulding National Peace Academy House, a residence that “will allow for on-site peacebuilding training, conflict resolution, dialogue, and more.”

George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution’s new international retreat and research center, Point of View, is intended to serve as a neutral location where representatives of those in conflict can meet for conversation, reflection and, perhaps, reconciliation.
