April 18, 2025George Mason University will celebrate Mason Day on Friday, April 25, from 3–10 p.m. on the Fairfax Campus. The event will feature a carnival and performances. Expect increased traffic on and around the Fairfax Campus. The event will take place from 3–10 p.m. in Parking Lots L and A (near EagleBank Arena).
April 17, 2025William Reeder, the founding dean of George Mason’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), died April 12, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 80.

He served as president of Newberry College in South Carolina and previously as senior vice president and chief operating officer at George Mason University.
