Biography
Samantha Sinagra is an artist, educator, and arts manager. She serves as the Assistant Director for Film and Video Studies at George Mason University and has worked for the department since 2017. Her favorite aspect of her job is getting to know the students and seeing their transformation as filmmakers throughout their time in the program. In addition, she is an adjunct faculty member in the Arts Management program.
Aside from her role at George Mason, Samantha is a freelance artist. She designed and wrote for Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, creating educational activity guides. She also worked as a graphic designer at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and as an art teacher, teaching children ranging from PreK-8.
Samantha's passion for the arts stemmed from her love of drawing and dancing. Growing up as an Irish Dancer, she danced competitively for over two decades. Some of her favorite performances were at venues such as The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Strathmore, and RFK Stadium.
A proud double alumna, Samantha holds a Master of Arts in Arts Management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art and Visual Technology, both from George Mason University.
