Biography
Marcos Zampieri is an assistant professor in the Department of Information Sciences and Technology, School of Computing, at George Mason University. He received his PhD from Saarland University where he was affiliated with the German Research Center in Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). His research interests are in computational linguistics and natural language processing (NLP).
His research deals with the collection and processing of large bodies of texts from various sources (e.g. social media, newspapers) with the goal of training robust NLP systems. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals and conference proceedings and co-edited a dozen edited volumes, special issues, and workshop proceedings.
