Biography
Jane Walker is the Director of Student Services at George Mason University’s Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution. Dedicated to supporting young people as they transition to adulthood, she helps students navigate early career decisions and apply their conflict resolution education into meaningful professional pathways across international, nonprofit, government, and private-sector contexts. Jane teaches, mentors, and advocates for students while supporting programming that emphasizes experiential and skill-building components. She also works closely with students engaged in study abroad, valuing international experiences as essential for developing global awareness, cultural humility, and contextual understanding beyond the classroom. Prior to George Mason, she taught high school social studies. She is a proud Missouri Tiger holding a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Outside of work, Jane enjoys hiking, live music, and road trips, always seeking new adventures that allow opportunities to foster connections.
