Mason’s men’s and women’s basketball teams capped off Homecoming 2024 with big wins at EagleBank Arena Saturday and Sunday.
Students and alumni celebrated at the tailgate and festival on Saturday.

On Saturday, the men’s team beat Rhode Island 92-84.
In front of a packed EagleBank Arena.
Senior Darius Maddox led the Patriots with a career-best 24 points on 8-of-13 shooting and made 4-of-6 3-pointers.
And graduate forward Amari Kelly had 17 points (7-10 FG) and notched game highs in rebounds (9) and blocks (4).
Mason celebrated the 50th anniversary of its women’s’ basketball team with more than 40 team alumni on Sunday.
And the women’s team beat the VCU Rams 60-47 to move to 7-1 in Atlantic 10 play and 16-3 overall, with sophomore Zahirah Walton being named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season and for the third-straight week.
All of which, meant there was a lot to celebrate.
