The Mason Minute Newsletter

Body

Dear Counselors,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. Congratulations on the successful completion of another school year! This unprecedented year was filled with stress, anxiety, and uncertainty, and I commend you for pushing through it all while supporting your students on their educational journeys. We appreciate all that you do to help your students pursue their college and career aspirations.

We are very excited about the Class of 2025 coming to Mason this fall. Our applicant pool for fall 2021 was large and diverse, and we are on track to enroll our largest freshman class to date. This could not have been accomplished without your influence. Thank you for being a valued partner in assisting students and their families with the college search process.

As the local safety restrictions loosen this summer, we will continue to offer flexible options for you and your students to engage with us. We have resumed in-person campus tours this summer, but we also still offer a virtual campus visit experience. We plan to resume visiting high schools and attending in-person college fairs in the fall, but we will continue offering virtual programming and information sessions as well. It is our goal to maintain this flexibility to ensure your students have access to the information they need to make informed decisions.

I am excited about the possibility of meeting you in person this fall. I hope that you will be available to participate in some school counselor programming specific to Mason during this upcoming school year. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us anytime at admissions@gmu.edu if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Alan Byrd, Ph.D.
Dean of Admissions
