For the second year in a row, Schar School of Policy and Government professors spent a week in South Korea in late May, delivering research to political leadership, professors, and students in a well-attended symposium addressing international security.

The Schar School of Policy and Government’s Public Administration program has been ranked No. 22 in the world in the 2019 global survey of universities by the Academic Ranking of World Universities-also known as the ShanghaiRankings.

Thursday, April 18—It was the day Schar School of Policy and Government undergraduates had been waiting for: Their research posters would finally be displayed and judged, with not just grades at stake, but also the possibility of winning $100.

“Spring Break in Mexico” conjures images of sun-drenched beaches and bustling nightlife, but for a cadre of Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University graduate and undergraduate students, their week-long adventure in and around Mexico City had a decidedly different purpose—one with lasting results.

Rondene Grinam’s list of undergraduate degrees is impressive: A major in communication with a concentration in public relations, and minors in global affairs and journalism.

Master’s students at the Schar School of Policy and Government became facilitators for a day in mid-November when a metaphorical “ship” docked at Founders Hall for the Master’s in Organization Development and Knowledge Management capstone event, the ODKM “Learning Community.”

The first students in a new Headquarters Marine Corps program, which makes higher education opportunities available to Marine Corps Officers, began studies in July at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University.
