Mason Career Academy launches to aid students, recent grads, displaced workers

Along with technical training, the platform, offered through Coursera, also includes professional development tools that help sharpen skills in resume writing, interviewing, and job readiness. 

Courses are taught by instructors from top companies and institutions, and completed credentials can be added directly to resumes or LinkedIn profiles.

Anthropology studies propel student to internship with Commerce Dept

One of senior Zain Alzubaidy's most memorable projects was crafting a persuasive letter to a foreign head of state on behalf of the Secretary of Commerce at the time, making the case for a business to be awarded a multi-trillion-dollar contract. 

“I feel like I have not only the competency and capability to do well in those areas, but also the right intentions,” he said. “Helping others will always be a goal of mine, so I will try my best to do that wherever I decide to work.”

Fairfax to Incheon: taking global collaboration on the road with city officials, Costello, and Advancement

Their goal was to support local companies interested in expanding to Fairfax.

 Spring Commencement 2025 - a look back

Yevin Goonatilake becomes George Mason’s youngest master’s graduate

Yevin has completed a master’s degree in computer science at 16. He is pursuing a PhD in computer science at George Mason and is interested in cryptography and large language models.

Third-generation builder/developer Robert E. “Bob” Buchanan received the university's highest honorary award, at the 2025 Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 15.

Record setting grad - Billups achieved goals on and off court

Senior and men’s basketball guard Jared Billups graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He's also George Mason’s first conference Defensive Player of the Year since 2001 and was a finalist for the Lefty Driesell Award, given to the nation’s top defensive player.

Nadin Said graduated with her bachelor’s degree on May 15. She plans to continue her education with an accelerated master's in electrical engineering aiming to pursue a career in the aerospace industry, contributing to technology advancement in space exploration.
