Repopulation of Campus

Mason is following a six-stage approach to resume operations, instruction, and research.

This timeline will dictate if, when, and how faculty, staff and students will return to campus. We have the flexibility to adjust the timeline, depending on developing events, instructions from the governor, and guidance from state and local health officials.

Stage 6 is resumption of normal operations at a date to be determined.

Many faculty and staff will work remotely for some time.

As supervisors identify roles that require the presence of a staff member, employees best suited to meet those responsibilities will return to campus. The required work will determine the length of their return (half-day, full-day, intermittent, or by-appointment). We encourage supervisors to be as flexible as possible.

All student services will be offered both virtually and face-to-face as we enter the fall semester

Some co-curricular events and programs will be held in person, and staff are determining which modifications are needed to follow public health requirements. We’ll provide guidance to student organizations for in-person activities and/or online experiences to connect with members.

Each unit/department must submit a Unit/Department Safety Plan that outlines how it will follow the university’s public health and safety precautions.
