Application Status

Freshman Applicants

If you submitted your application by the November 1 (early action) deadline or January 15 (regular decision) deadline, you have met our requirement for consideration for fall admission. Be sure to send any required supporting documents immediately after submitting your application. If you applied by the early action deadline, we will notify you of our admission decision on December 15. If you applied by the regular decision deadline, we will notify you on April 1. We will communicate all admission decisions via the Mason Admissions Portal.

Transfer Applicants

If you submitted your application by March 1 for fall or October 1 for spring, you have met our requirement for admission consideration. Be sure to send any required supporting documents immediately after submitting your application. You should check your status weekly until you receive an admission decision. We will begin notifying transfer applicants of decisions on April 1 for fall and November 1 for spring. We will continue to release decisions as long as space remains in the transfer class. We will communicate all admission decisions via the Mason Admissions Portal.

Graduate Applicants

You will be notified by email when your application is considered complete and goes on to the next step of review by our faculty. Most master’s programs make decisions on a rolling basis and notify applicants in four to six weeks. Most doctorate programs review applicants and release decisions at one time. Those reviews happen after the posted deadline and notifications will be sent out in four to six weeks. We will release all decisions via your Application Portal, not email or postal mail.

Check Your Application Status

If you applied for admission using the Common App, please refer to the acknowledgment email you received to retrieve your username. You may need to set up a password.

If you applied for admission using the Mason-exclusive application, use the login and password you created for your application to check your status. Remember that both are case sensitive. If you forgot your login or password, you can retrieve them by clicking the link that applies to you and selecting Reset Password. You will be asked to enter the email address you provided in your application, and then you will receive a link to reset your password via email.
